All Products are 1/12 Scale Unless Noted Otherwise

ATTENTION UNITED STATES SHOPPERS: Due to the United States administration's suspension of the duty-free "de minimus" threshold for all countries, including Canada, all shipments entering the U.S. must have duties prepaid before crossing the border effective August 29, 2025. This change is mandated under U.S. Executive Order 14324 and applies to all shipments from Canada. The Executive Order requires that we, in Canada, charge a 35% tariff on all orders being shipped to the U.S. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to immediately suspend sales to the United States. This will remain in place until the situation regarding tariffs and the above noted Executive Order changes. We are truly saddened to face this situation and hope that we can soon resume business with our U.S. customers, whom we value greatly.

Product Description

If you have ever dreamed of having a cozy gazebo made from recycled materials in the backyard, this workshop is a way to make that dream come true in miniature!

NOTE:  PHOTOS #3-6 ARE REDITIONS OF THIS WORKSHOP THAT WERE CREATED BY SHELLEY'S PREVIOUS STUDENTS.  I HAVE INCLUDED THEM HERE TO POSSIBLY GIVE YOU OTHER IDEAS FOR COLOURS, ETC.  THE LAST THREE PHOTOS ARE FROM HER APPEARANCE ON THE SHOW, "BEST IN MINIATURE"

Sunday, November 23

9am - 5pm

at Grandpa's Doll House, 43624 Sparta Line, St. Thomas, ON

Join Shelley Acker from Freedom Miniatures, and participant in Season 3 of Best in Miniature for this creative workshop where you will build a 1/12 scale summer time gazebo using doors and a window as the walls. A corrugated roof and wooden floor sit atop a foam base that can be customized to your liking.  Take advantage of this opportunity to learn from one of Canada's most talented miniaturists.

Choose your own paint colours and decorate the space however you like. Make it a quiet hide-a-way, a gardening workspace, family gathering spot or whatever else you can imagine.

The kit includes all of the components for the structure - base, flooring, doors, window panel, ceiling and roof. Also included are three different door handles, one pair of hinges and two coat hooks. And finally, a Chrysnbon cane seat chair kit.

Gazebo base is approximately 10" x 5" and the whole thing is about 7" tall.

Tool List: bring what you can, I will have extras

  • Apron, or clothes you don't mind getting paint on
  • Sharp craft knife
  • White all-purpose glue
  • Weights to weight down the floor - something like 3-4 heavy books
  • Ruler - preferably metal
  • Sharp pencil
  • Old toothbrush
  • Masking tape
  • Wood glue
  • Paint brushes
  • Paints - colours of your choice for the doors, floor and chair

IMPORTANT NOTE!

This workshop allows you to choose your colour(s) for the gazebo. Please give some thought to what colours you want to use prior to arrival. If you have those colours, please bring them with you. If you do not have the paint colours, please be prepared to quickly select from a limited selection that will be available on-site.

You can use one colour or several - totally your choice. Give your gazebo a light summery look or an old worn appearance with doors of different colours. You get to decide, but, there isn't much extra time in the workshop, so taking time to decide your colours will slow you down - and we don't want you to be hurried later ?

NO REFUNDS IN CASE OF CANCELLATIONS, ON PARTICIPANTS PART.
