I hope that you understand our need to have our store home based after 17 years of having a retail store. Family is important to me and working long hours every day is not conducive to having much family time. Also, on December 18, 2009, we were blessed by the birth of our first grandchild, Quintin James Arnold. Quintin spent most of the first 18 months of his life in the hospital, one month of that time at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto on an ECMO machine. (it pumped his blood out of his tiny body, removing the CO2 and adding oxygen and sending it pulsing back through his body, because his lungs were not working) We were told multiple times that he probably would not make it. However, he just turned 2 years old. He is a miracle and a true gift from God. He has multiple physical and mental challenges but his smile and hugs are the light of our lives! So, the long and the short of this story is that having the business run from home enables me to spend as much time with Quintin as possible and help his parents give him the best care possible. I thank God for His gifts every day.

I have always loved miniatures. When I was very young, I remember playing with tiny dolls and making furniture from sticks and cardboard. That was, until that magical Christmas in 1968 when my grandfather and mother led me down into the basement of my grandparents' home to reveal a gift that had been a labour of love for them for many months. My dollhouse was a thing of beauty. Over the years I collected bits and pieces as i could. We grew up on a farm and life was tough. There was no money for fancy furniture or electric lights. However, my parents did buy me one electric lamp, a high chair and a playpen. I always wanted electricity in my house so that I could use that electric lamp. However, when I opened the store and was able to refurbish my house, I could not add wiring. I did not want to change the integrity of the house. It got a new paint job and some new flooring and furnishing but the structure remained intact, and still does today.
